THE CARD GAME OF SOMERSET
|
The card game of Somerset is fun for the entire family. It is more complex than Hearts, but easier then Bridge. It is a trick-taking game that has been around for over 100 years.
Arthur J. Hodges of Carroll, Iowa, invented Somerset in 1903. The game started as "Single Somerset" with a high card of 6/6 and 28 cards in the deck. It later evolved into " Double Somerset" with a high card of 12/12 and 50 cards in the deck. This website is devoted to Double Somerset.
